Last year I blogged about attending the hcmf, more or less so I wouldn't forget what I'd heard. Since then I've been thinking about blogging but I've been loathe to do so purely to blether about myself; mainly because I can't think of anything less interesting. After listening to a podcast of John Gruber & Merlin Mann's Blogging Panel at SxSW I decided to select my passion.
Didn't have to look too far as it turned out: I love music. A quick brainstorming session and $10 later I was the proud possessor of scrambledmusic.com which, astoundingly, no-one had purchased. Weird.
Anyway, what do I plan to do with this blog. Well, that remains to be seen, but essentially I want to share my opinion of music that I'm listening to at the moment and gigs I attend. I like to think I've got a fairly catholic musical taste. My two criteria are: 1. open ears & 2. open mind; possibly not in that order. What I won't do is just publish links with no editorial content. That's what search engines are for. I'm not in this for money, I'm in it for love.
PS I'll also occasionally blog about blogging about music, just like this post. These will be labelled meta.
